Factory Driver Mission List

I did not want to get into a detailed description or offer tips on finishing the factory driver missions because that would take too long. Josh Allen, (aka jtace) webmaster of totalnfs.net, is putting together a detailed tutorial for of all of the factory driver missions. It is at http://www.totalnfs.net. Click on "NFS Series", "PC", then "NFS PU" and finally, "Factory Driver".

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of cars will it feature? Need For Speed 5 will feature over 70 Porsches, ranging from the 1950 356 to the 2000 911 Turbo.

What about tracks? It will feature nine road courses, plus point to point multiroute tracks, with intersections, short cuts and more.

How will the cars differ from previous versions of NFS? The cars physics (ie. how it drives) is a vast improvment over the previous games. The average number of vertices and polygons per car is higher, giving the cars a much more smooth appearance. They now feature hazard lights and left/right turn signals.

What about the cars interiors? The cars interiors now feature drivers hands on the steering wheel. When you shift, you will see one of the driver's hands move down to shift the transmission, the hands also move to press the horn button when you honk.

Can you modify cars? Yes, and unlike many racing games, modifing costs you twice. Not only do you have to buy the new part, but repairs cost more on modified parts, expecially engine parts. Porsche Evolution will feature over 700 parts, and unlike NFS4, where you were limited to three upgrade packages, you can add individual parts.

Does the game feature economics? In the Evolution mode, you start out in 1950 with just enough cash to buy a new 356. Every year, new Porsches are introduced, and if you have won enough money racing, then you can buy a new car. As time goes by, the price of your older Porsche models declines, then goes up as the car becomes a collector's item.

What are the other modes? There are two other modes, Factory Driver and Quick Race. Quick Race is pretty much self-explanatory, it features three sub-modes, one "ordinary" race mode and two different Knockout modes.
In the Factory Driver mode, you are a factory driver who has to complete different missions, ranging from unveiling a new car to the press to test driving a prototype.

Does Electronic Arts have a official Porsche Unleashed Webpage? Yes, right here
